The first place to start when planning for your retirement is actually at the end. In other words, take a realistic look at how much income you think you will need in retirement and then work out where that income is going to come from.
In practice, your retirement income is likely to come from a variety
of sources. If you are planning on working into your retirement,
then you can factor in some income from this as well.
Once you have an idea of your income needs in retirement, the
next step is see if you are on track. This will highlight any shortfall
between the possible reality and your expectations. We have specialist
software available to help you with this part of the process if
necessary.
If there is a shortfall, the sooner you take steps to reduce it the better; as it will become increasingly difficult to do so as you approach retirement.
If you aren’t able to find additional resources to
close the gap, and many people don’t have spare income; then we can help
you make the best possible use of the financial resources you do have.
If you don’t have a plan for your retirement we can help you devise one.
If you do already have a retirement plan, we can check that your plan
is sound. If your plan is sound then that’s great! If it isn’t then we
can discuss some ways in which it might be improved.
